SS Inscribed Presentation Tray & Collar Tab

Shown here are items that will be up-for-auction tomorrow (Monday). I have not seen them in-hand but am posting the auctioneer's photo here. A good friend familiar with SS memorabilia has already told me that this tray, as well as the runic collar tab, are in all probability fakes.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

    Regards,

    John

And based on the single long-range shot of the runic tab I fear that is also a fake. The Italian war service cross looks good though

By such a late date as 1944, in Italy, the SS had more important things on their mind, than dedicated silver trays.

Thanks very much for the comments, guys, confirming what my friend Bernie Brule had told me. I stayed away from them at the auction today.

Just for info., the "SS" engraved tray sold for $60 (plus tax), so I am guessing that other collectors in the room also knew that it was bad. The box of medals with the runic tab went for $80 (plus 15% tax)...probably not a bad price even given the fake SS collar tab - considering that there were 4 Canadian WW2 and four Italian military medals and some other miscellaneous insignia included.
