Italian Camo M41 Field Cap For Review

Hello, this is all foreign to me. Obviously I don't know much when it comes to German militaria. I stick with USAAF. I bought some items from a vet who drove a half track in WWII. He had several bring-backs. This hat was in a group of items which came directly from him. It looks way too nice in my opinion. I can't find any info on the maker either. My question is, of course, is it a re-enactment piece or could it have been a field made hat? Thanks for your time.. Also, it does not glow one bit under a black light and passed the burn test.

French maker stamped...1944. Most of France was already liberated mid/late 1944..
So that's a red flag...makers were usually not identified by 1944 in field caps...just codes...
And it looks brand new...such camo items were mostly field made by a company tailor lacking any stamps,
No maker stamps, no RBNr appearing would be the norm on these...
Most likely a reenactment piece mixed in with good vet stuff...

Looks like post war shelter half material. I had a 43 dated Italian shelterhalf, not the standard green, but not this blue.

"six italians, dressed in rather unusual diving suits and equipped with materials of laughably little cost have swung the military balance of power in the Mediterranean in favour of the Axis".
