    12th SS Hitler Jugend photo

Looking for opinions on what the Hauptsturmfuhrer in the photo is handing out.

Possibly divisional cuffbands in some sort of wrapping? What else could it be?

    Thanks for any ideas.

The photo is taken in France in 1944 circa April-June, and the officer is Albert Schuch

What makes you so sure that these are 12th SS? Any extra information?

Does look like him. Did this photograph came from a group or are there more?

Hi, Houwe, The photo is from Witts estate and yes came with others, from the same period probably taken at Tillieres.

True. It does look like medal ribbons or Kurland titles. Guy next to Witt has LAH cypher either embroidered to shoulderboard (early style) or cut out slide sewn on. Guess it could be HJ still ( lots of LAH transferred to HJ) but he looks way too young to have been issued those direct embroidered boards.

The Young soldiers of the HJ were very inventive and knew where to find material, believe me I've seen many private photographs Most LSSAH material was recovered in the Ersatz units like the SS-Panzer-Ausbildungs-und Ersatz-Abteilung, some where transferred to the LSSAH but than again transferred back.
