I have heard of it..never tried it. So the consensus is that these are good Waffen SS NCO infantry shoulderstraps +unrelated Ss pattern GJ edelweiss, right?

Someday sniping software will be banned. It screws the sellers and e bay alike...and doe not always mean you will win the item. That is one reason I refuse to bid on e bay. Its become a clearing house for crooks , and occasionally like this ...there is a deal....but not as often as one may think. If they were to get smart they would make TR items be allowed in hidden areas you have to agree to not be offended by if you clicked on to that area....then they should ban all sniping programs so they are then worthless and then only allow guaranteed originals auctioned , and make selling of fakes as originals be stopped...THEN e bay would be king again......but they refuse to realize what they have done to themselves , especially RE: TR items , as their ignorant policy has hurt their own selling reputation, funnel'd away business they would have sewn up totally...and as a result their policys have done more harm than good for everyone(also created competition). I look forward to the day when they finally do the right thing and allow the sellers names of people who report items as offensive who troll all day looking for things to complain about to be public as all other disclosures they expect sellers to have when their own rules demanding 100% transparency to adhere to, is not done by themselves as the way it is now...they hide that information and do not do the same as they demand in return...make rules simpler and cut fees....then the rats would out the bag, fakers would leave ,they would make more money than even now with their money grubbing stupidity rules...and many who for decades that have played dirty would be found out, and nobody would bid on their items again....and they would cut the heads off of the scum that have gained control of it in our hobby who ruined it after it was sold and be ostracized.....yep....e bay needs fixed and to take my suggestions would make them millions more every year.(so e bay should send me a 1% commission when they follow this plan for the increase of their first years profits increases or hire me ....SO....until then they are just a backwards crappy place I refuse to patronize or even waste time looking on )

Well that makes one less person to bid against,

Not sure I understand your logic. There are free Snipe programs out there .. and simple to use,

Why does it screw the sellers and bidders? Maybe because the bidders that don't have it lose many times?

You set your limit and bid. If you don't win ... oh well fine by me ... I didn't want to spend more anyway ... right?. If you are pissed then maybe set you top limit higher.

With Snipes you don't get dragged into those stupid "bidding wars" hours or days before the end time by two clowns that haven't figured out SMART e-bay strategy. Sounds like a win to me?

Collection items on Ebay... based on experience it can be like a Lottery game or a scam game for others.
Good luck to save some money.

I've found the same in most cases as Robert - Allach is the only SS item I'm confident enough to buy on ebay and then the seller has to have a long standing account with good feedback.

It is eBays fond desire to become the "dollar store" of the auction World. It's all in the volume. There are no anylitical minds working there to solve problems and make stockholders more money. Just computer geeks that "change" things every week to justify their existence.
But do not be fooled into thinking there are no Militaria bargains to be had..cause there are. Some of the biggest finds in the last 5 years for me have been on eBay.
Too..eBay hates sellers. They ALWAYS side with a buyer and with the PP buyer protection..you don't like it? You get your $$ back. End of story.

                          Ebay opportunity

I have to disagree on the
"eBay ALWAYS side with a buyer" statement.
I regularly buy and sell on eBay. I bought and sold items with considerable price tags. On the two occasions a buyer tried to rip me off, in the end eBay sided with me. I had to call their customer service a couple of times and explain WELL the situation but I was not ripped off by the dishonest buyer

Why would eBay "hate" sellers??? Their are the cash cow without them eBay would't exist
I think you are taking things too personal
