    SS Kavallerie Book

    Hello,

A friend of mine just picked this up and was wondering what they are going for. It has a complete dust cover, a little worn and a small tear. Binding is tight and all of the pages are present. Thanks,
    .

        Hi,

"Kavallerie Im Osten" is rarer than "Damals" (Totenkopf 1940) or "Waffen-SS Im Westen" (SS 1940), but less rare than "Sommer 1943 - Totenkopf" or "Sommer 1943 - Das Reich".
Imo the content is historically very interesting (SS-Kavallerie-Brigade duty from summer 1941 up to early 1942 was mainly "pacification" aka extermination of "partisans"/civilians/Jews/etc.) and but the visuals are only average.

Webstores are usually proposing it for x1.5 to x2.5 time the market price.
You need to have too much money to be able to buy it for +500 Euros... And in that case you are not making a good purchase.

The real price imo is more between 200 to 350 Euros depending on the condition.

        See You

These look like interesting books. The images in the Kavallerie one do look a little less interesting than the others. The "Sommer 1943 - Totenkopf" looks like it has some good photos.

Do you have the other books Vince?

            Hello Tony,

we have the "common" SS books. Unfortunately (or fortunately ?) we didn't saw in time the "Sommer 1943" books that were available on the last Thies Auction.
The final prices were a bit out of nowhere, like for most SS books (7 "common" Leithefte for +460 Euros each [EACH !]).

Here is an old topic showing the "Totenkopf" variant, with the dust cover.
Interesting to see that the book was released in early 1944.

We never saw the dust cover of the "Das Reich" variant, if anyone is having it, it could be great to see it.

            See You

            Vince
