        Booten,

if you decide to make more Julleuchter for sale, you just need to make them with the obvious mistake like the one posted.

I'm sure a lot of collectors here would love to keep one in collection, even for study purpose.

Of course if you decide I'm among the asking parts

It would be cool to have a "stunt double" that can be used while leaving the original in a safe place.
My wife would like a Julleuchter

It was rather obvious to myself and others here that it looked too pristine to be genuine. Looked fake right away. The problem for me would be after it had been aged.

            Fooled the experts....hmmmm. I'm a bit surprised.

As some other guys I was fooled too and I had no problem to admit (as I did) that a too fast judgement is dangerous. And this is the case.
But I know no one in the world, expert or not, that never made a mistake, especially via computer. Do you find it so strange? I'm happy for you if your judgements are always perfects, mine are not.
Today surfaced this Julleuchter, tomorrow will surface another piece, we all know the TR militaria is a never ending story.
So I see nothing strange in a wrong post. Forum purpose is obviously this: everyone is here to learn day by day.

I'm sure if I make some fake medals or rings I will be able to fool a lot of collectors and "experts" too, especially via posting images on forums. But why I should do it? Simply to laugh and to show what I'm able to do?

No thanks, make a copy, as I said, for me is always suspicious, and we should also consider that some others can follow the advices posted here.

                  My books:

                  - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
                  - THE SS TK RING
                  - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
                  - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
                  - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

                  and more!

                    Dears,
IMHO a good and skilled potter can make those Jul-Leuchter without any problems. Based on my experience in collecting roman antiquities (and especially roman pottery), it is nearly impossible to determinate the age without a TL analysis when the piece does not have surface treatment like glazing or varnishing.
Pottery is a minefield. I have objects made 2000 years ago and looks like made yesterday and vice versa. Aging process of pottery can only proven by a laboratory, nothing else. And even this would not work here as the error margins are to high for such a "young" piece.
I would not buy a Leuchter without a solid proven reference.
                    Regards
                    Christian

I believe Roman has done as all a favour. He has raised the game as it were

As far as the Leuchter's are concerned, collectors will have to be more diligent from now on
