If someone can make one that good, although I doubted it from the start, then its quite disturbing. How many people may have shelled out a chunk of money for something like that. Would be quite easy to leave it the garden for a few months in the winter and it would age quite nicely

You are right, its my second julleuchter (first with another picture and without allach mark, made the same time)
Yes, I have little experience, but as amateur, dilettant, Im not a professional, and not a ceramist...
I'm sure - everyone who have some basic experience in ceramics can create "the original julleuchter"
smooth or rough surface - its so easy to achieve... allach logo on the wet clay - you can make whatever you want

Great thread. There's a great lesson here. Anything that was made by a person could be made again, these were crudely mass-produced by children but the same holds true for items that are harder to recreate. Booteen, I applaud your skill. Great work.

Well, did you make it from an original period mold?

The molds were not made by children as you know.

of course I had a period original for a sample
but I didn't use the original for forming
I made the model in plasticine 26cm high
and after firing in oven the size has become 23,5cm - its some bigger than original but its normal for a joky gift

the first
