        It looks like it could be good, but the band application needs to be carefully looked at as I am not convinced this one was made with that velvet band. Was it added then or more recently is the question. I will say that SS crushers are rare enough, but real period made velvet band or others made from a similar material (all SS officers crusher bands were not made from actual velvet) are over the top rare.

        Personally my way of collecting is that I would take a cap if it was 2x worse condition than this one (if that is possible) IF the wear and damage was wartime result......but I do not want anything with this kind of post war damage......that is just me. I few moth nips are one thing but the structural integrity of this cap is at risk!
