    SS Allach Buckelurne mit Sig-Runen - K 511

    Hello

I am glad to present here this unique item which I finally was able to find. This rarest SS Allach piece called "Buckelurne mit Sig-Runen", catalog #K 511. Best description of it could be found on NS-Kunst site:

"A rare piece of porcelain, K 511, Sachsen-Urne. Porcelain with dark basalt glaze that gives the impression of burnished bronze finish, a reminder of the later period bronze age of the Saxons.

This model is a rare urn, only 36 were made in the years of the records for 1938/1939, by comparison the unglazed K7 model urns out number these by approx 10:1 in respect of production figures in the same time period."

Here is an official letter written by Ahnenerbe SS-Sturmbannführer Galke, who worked directly under Wolfram Sievers, to Allach porcelain management . In this letter he "recommends" production of this Allach item...

The question is, of course, how many of these do exist in today's world...
Here is a short list that I was able to trace:

      1. Wewelsburg Museum Collection Inv.Nr. 14671

      2. Thorsten B. collection (hope it is ok to name him here, as his item was presented here on WAF)

      3. Item from NS-Kunst site, now in the collection of another WAF member.

      4. Item pictured in Dennis Porell book - might be one of 3 already mentioned items...

      5. This item

Hope another members could provide an info about another known existing items or any additional information at all......

      Thanks in advance
      Michael

Congrads to your very rare find!!

This Allach Sachsenurne is a specialty among the range of SS cultural items and - as you present it so very well - fits perfectly with it´s germanic look to the SS cultural pieces made by Gahr and the Leitheft.

Just one correction: The author of the letter is Wolfram Sievers himself, not Galke.

That is a stunning piece of art. Seeing this, I can understand collecting this type of Allach. It is so much nicer than the kitsch animals.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Mr Hritz, What do you find in poor taste about the TR era Allach porcelain?
                              Each to their own but..??
