    SS Helmet Cover

Original MINT Un-Issued Waffen SS Oakleaf Camouflage Second Model Helmet Cover- The colors are 100%. It is near MINT condition, but for one spring is detached from the material, inside the sleeve panel. The clips are all anodized aluminum "purple" and are in excellent condition. The right & left side panels are a slightly different shade of Oakleaf A than the middle panel. The loops appear to be a mix of Oakleaf and Planetree. Also the spring sleeve panels are also Oakleaf and Pre-War Early Planetree. The main panels are double needle machine sewn, typical of later war production helmet covers. Thread is a mix of field-gray and a brown color. The helmet cover is nicely marked with ink stamp size 1 on the fall rear bottom and fits 60 or 62 shells.

The different stitch thread makes it interesting, not often one sees that. Although I'm not a big fan of unissued covers I don't mind this one.

I suppose it is logical that most original unissued covers one sees tend to be small sizes.

                  Thanks for sharing,

                  Asper
