    Help with an SS uniform

I just found this uniform in my collection. I completely forgot I had it, I have owned it over 20 years. My father and I picked it up at an auction very cheap. Don't remember how much. I have always thought it was a repro. as it looks so good. But the more I look at details I am not sure? Maybe it is a good one? Or maybe just an old reenactor piece? It does pass the black light test, no glowing on the ribbon and collar tabs.

Any info and help would be great. Even if repro what style uniform is this?
    Thanks

Theatrical or movie piece...The base uniform is authentic west German polizei with modified black cuffs and black collar added to make it look like SS, which is not accurate....
Note that the post war date has been inked out...the rank insignia is fake.

              Thanks for the info.

Any chance of the collar tabs or patches being authentic?

I thought it was odd looking, I could not find another picture of a uniform that matched the look of this one, so that would explain why as it was pieced together.

Like I said I have had it for many years and I think we paid like $20-50. not much.

                    Hello All,

It has original French made insignia, they are ugly but real.

That's an interesting revelation...possibly French made insignia...I do like the embroidery of the eagle but the material used for the tabs is really really odd...
but if its foreign made maybe that is a plausible explanation... who knows...? I guess that is a possibility.
The tunic is still not a period one. Early West German, based on the "Dienstrock" cut with medical pouch...not what you would expect with a genuine TR garment
and of course the cuffs and black collar are not per the regulations...added...a theatrical or movie modification...
If you want to make double sure on all of this I suggest to post it in the Police section and/or West German section for more opinions. It is a very odd duck!

Thanks again. I will post in the other sections and see what others think.

It is an odd piece. It would be nice if some of the patches and tabs were period.

I am not familiar with French made collar tabs, but the eagle is original French made.
