I had read that Lane used original black tape on his repros. Looking at Saarland, with 6 strand edging, the cloth appears to be original.

Am I mistaken?

Hello Gary,

According to Ken Lane, he had a large supply if original 6 strand material from an original maker. When he used up his supply, he found a maker in Austria for band material. This later material was inferior. He had original embroidery template patterns for some titles and created others, including such comical titles as Dumbkopf. Some of the embroidery looks very good and some was horrible, depending who made the templates for the Jacquard machines to which he had access.
