SS insignia etc...need some help

Hello All,

I am not an SS expert - far from, I am into medical stuff, uniforms, insignia etc.

Some time ago I bought a very fine trade-patch to a medical SS doctor - see pict.

Together with this came a cord, bi-colored, black and silver and a visor cord also 2 colored.

The cord is ca. 4-5 mm in thickness, and 72 cm long, full of black threads that probably has been used to fix it to ..a uniform..?..it fits more than one of my uniforms around the collar..

Is this from an SS - early - tunic..?..and are the visor cord also SS..?..

Thanks for any input which will be greatly appreciated.

OK, thanks for the input.

I did post the raute before with an EM ditto. And people was not too keen on the officers version.

Can anone tell me where I should see the "problems" in the raute..?..

I consulted Angolia´s Cloth insignia of the SS, B/W photoes, page 121 bottom, and p 213 top left, the last one differs clearly very much from my specimen, but the one on page 121 does look quite close to mine.

Any other reference-books that can improve my knowledge..?..


Oh, btw, where do the visor-cord belong..?..what branch.?.service.?
