Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Very nice and rare cuff title. This is a classic example of the WSS being freed of RZM controls, circa 1942. When the 12 SS was formed in 1944, the Quartermaster was free to contract with any cloth manufacturing company that he desired. It could be to explain the term "Bevo-like" as in this cuff title, that another maker made a bid lower than the Bevo company itself. This maker could have been chosen on that basis alone. And they had their own weaving process.

My point is that many theatre made cuff titles that do not conform to collector standards, are labeled "horrible fakes." When the opposite is true, because the contract was let to a maker no longer bound by RZM rules. What was made, was to order by the WSS division concerned. It was for that division's needs, because of a change in design such as eliminating the shiny wire strands, top and bottom, or it was less expensive to make.

This fact of history seems to be ignored.
                    Opinions?

Although supposedly "Rare" i know of a few examples for sale on dealers sites that have sat there quite awhile now unsold & they are IMO not hideously priced

So is it just a case of collectors not having the money or this stuff falling in value ?............

Thanks Guys and thanks Gary for information!

I like the cuff title worn, in my opinion has a history more important than a cuff title unworn.

                          Regards

I think a lot of SS items have gone soft over the past few years and cuff titles / insignia is one. The prices might not have gone down much but the stuff seems to be taking longer to sell in a lot of cases. And prices don't seem to be increasing.

I've picked up a few collar tabs and other SS items in the past 6 months, and the prices had come down quite a lot. Either that or I was incredibly lucky (which I doubt)

                              Nice HJ cuff title Robin.
