    SS-VT "Germania" paratroopers ?

    Hello !

Interesting photo indeed from Beaver book: SS-VT soldiers in paratroop school "Stendal" before the war.

Was the "Germania" only one SS-VT unit involved in paratroop trainings or any other SS-VT (or SS-TV) units sent soldiers to schools like "Stendal" ?

How was this practice common - paratroop training in SS befor the war ?

    Cheers,
    Alex

Entry into the SS paratroop Battalion was on a volunteer basis.
These candidates stayed with their original unit "Germania"
until called upon to forefil their paratroop duties.
For example, they would have served with Germania with Reich division, then Wiking division until an action such as the assault on Titos' stronghold called upon their training to establish the 500 paratroop Battalion.
Paratroopers came from most of the other Waffen SS divisions also
i.e. Totenkopf, LAH, Das Reich etc...
