Can't believe the summer solstice is almost here! Time for a Julleuchter picture

Clay and wood always look great together so I snapped one together with an interesting plate from 1938, in a real nice cherry wood. The first I've seen with this Lebensborn script.. 'Das Deutshe Korn Ein Lebensborn'' "The German Grain is the Spring of Life'

An awesome picture of a lovely cultural plate bearing a unique motto!!

Thought I add another one to it which probably also was in ceremonial use at solstice: DEM FÜHRER DANK - ER GAB UNS BROT.

Maybe I should have it restored so that it won´t be so damn dark anymore..

Thorsten, lovely plate..assuming the plate was originally dark I think just a bit of a clean and some wax in the correct colour would bring it up nicely, the condition looks pretty good overall.
