    Waffen SS M43 tunic- opinions please

    Hi guys- I am a long-standing collector of WW2 German and British kit, now trying to make a first move into start branching into Waffen SS kit. This is an area I don't know much on, and I can see it is a minefield! I have seen this tunic for sale in the USA and would be very grateful for any opinions- is it genuine?

    Thanks very much!

        Thats if you have your photos stored on another site, load photos direct, not too large or it will reject them. If you have full membership status you should be able to do this. If you are having problems, send me a few good shots and it wont take these guys very long to get your answer Texasbadger@sbcglobal.net

                    That echoes my feelings a bit. What specifically are the warning signs? As a beginner at this I may be looking at the wrong things... but the liner looks dodgy to me, and the collar tabs just seem a bit crowded on the collar- like they just don't fit properly, if you see what I mean?

                      Its a reenactor tunic that someone tryied to age, someone that have no clue how an original used tunic looks. he probably used bleach to make "sweat" marks...with those results....

                      And the cherry on top....those great stamps...lol

                      //Daniel.

                        Yes those stamps are pretty damn bad! Though in fairness the seller does concede that they are not original to the tunic.

                        I agree with Daniel on this, but would be very grateful to hear more opinions on it!
                        Also very grateful to Steve Flanagan for helping me out by posting the photos.

                          Make a search on the forum and look for original examples, that is the best way to learn.
                          This one has the wrong fabric of wool for a start, wrong construction, fake insignia,...

                            It is just a cheap copy that has been very badly artificially aged, with bogus fantasy stamps added to the lining. I believe even the buttons are fake.

                              I have just seen your post on the ss crusher. You need to be careful or get someone to assist you if you want to venture into SS. J
