SS Cap Eagle

I recently unearthed this Zimmerman eagle in my spares box. I am presuming it is the zinc example of this insignia. Anyone got an idea as to year of issue?

Yes a nice cupal Zimmermann! I like the clean way the pins are attached to these eagles, the crimp is much nicer looking than soldering and they seem to stay attached better then the soldered prongs.

could you post clear straight on photos of this beauty derek? what other goodies do you have in the "spares box"?

Tony, I have collected SS headgear for a long time and always kept a box of spare badges for the odd hat that was missing a piece of insignia. Although I was lucky enough to be collecting when a lot of the caps retained their original insignia.
