Looks like a good Leibstandarte piece to me.
Germany did import things. Not from their enemies, during the war, of course, but before the war. I´m sure they didn´t throw things away, just because of foreign company names. Theye even marked things Made in Germany, during the Third Reich era.

I have had one for many years from a really good source. Good or bad I like it.. BUT,,
Me being so single minded towards rings a few times when I've been shown period catalogs I'd see a SS advertised cigg case/fob, I never did save the info.. BUT,,They would advertise you could have anything you wanted put on so a LAH is entirely possible..

In the first post photo 3 you can clearly see that the H is first, followed by the A and the L is last in line. Thus HAL.
This is one of the differences between the LAH and HAL "logo's"
You have to study the way they are engraved. You will also note that the spoon shown is dated 1914. So that is a HAL piece as well.

Tongs for sugar LAH
Hi: I also have a sugar tong like the spoon "Elkington" dated "1915" ....I heard and saw the forums....for what I paid for it...I'm not worried..so if I were you...you have a nice piece...just not LAH.
Opinions are just like ........everyone has one!!!
My question or thought...Strange how the LAH and HAL have the same pattern. Strange how they are similar....why would the LAH copy the HAL logo.... Maybe the LAH logos on the SS shoulder boards meant that they worked for the HAL ship lines as security like the Homeland Security or TSA.
Has anyone...seen pictures of tables on these ship liners with this silverware and plates? That would really kill the matter vs. SMEs and opinions.

Tongs for sugar LAH
After looking closely at the pictures of the spoon and my HAL or LAH sugar tong...I notice two (2) lines in the "A"...but not in your sugar cube tongs...hmmmmm!! Why one (1) line and not two (2) like the spoon and my tongs....?? Attention to detail....
Years ago...I had some fish knives.....which are long gone.

This post shows both HAL and HAPAG logos on the same item.

A lot of poeple have paid big bucks for this "LAH" stuff
However HAL items are not cheap either and some items go for as much as some original WW11 pieces.
