Hello, OK, I see that now. Also noticing what appears to be extra holes in the lining in various places. All of combined open holes is going to be a problem for an ss visor hat, IMO.

I'm a bit late to the party but from what I can see here, this is not an authentic Paul Kaps. The sweatband and lining are original Kaps manufacture but all the rest doesn't conform at all.

The fact that the sweatband has been sewn twice (the original stitching is still there but probably isn't attached to anything) and that the lining doesn't fit are all obvious signs that this is some kind of Frankenstein creation.

Nice original zinc insignia though for what it's worth.

I forgot about this thread and had it confused with the one on the Cloth Headgear forum. I do have to agree with Ben and the others. Shouldn't the band seam be on the front of the cap? It deeply saddens me to think that someone raped a Kaps visor to make this thing.

It's bad enough that it has been happening with Erels for decades, but I see about 1 Kaps visor for about every 100 erels so it is an even more egregious crime IMO.
