      I have doubts about the crusher but for almost none of the reasons cited by others. The sweatband is really a very strong point in the caps favor IMO. I like the age, the type of wear and quality of installation all regarding the sweatband.

      I am not a fan of the velvet cap band as it looks very thick and just not quite right in the photos, I may change my opinion of it person. The same with the cap fabric.

      I agree that original SS officers crushers are very rare, I doubt that anyone has examined more that about half dozen real ones in a lifetime of collecting. There is not one contemporary example shown in the Beaver/Shea book on SS headwear.

      I doubt that I have seen more than 3 or 4 posted on this forum in the last 15 years that I felt were original or that the consensus felt were original.
