    LAH NCO Cypher

    Hello all,

Would appreciate comments on this LAH NCO cypher - more images requested but this is what I have to go on now.

    My thanks in advance,

    Mike

Also...the pins are broken on this piece and it is sewn to the board.

        Mike,
These cyphers can be very tough, and even though I collect LAH cyphered boards I do not remotely consider myself an expert on them. That said, I have studied several original NCO examples, and none of them were quite like the one shown. I circled a couple of area's that concern me. I have not seen an original where the top parts are connected and in the bottom circle there is a definite lack of detail seen on known originals. I would be interested to hear what others think though...Best, John

Here is an NCO from my collection, which interestingly enough also has broken pins and is sewn down to the board...John

            Hi Mike and John...

After reading this thread I picked my Cook, Bender book on the LAH and found an example of the cypher in question on page 287, or so it seems. Also look on page 281 at the board in the middle of the page, it too is very similar to the one posted here, and the board just above it is very similar to the cypher picture you posted John.

Admittedly, I'm just a rank amature trying to run with the big dogs...
