      Hello Francesco...

I have one very simliar I purchased as an original about four years ago. I got burned several times on these eagles and have stayed away from them since that last purchase.

This one looks correct in construction. I hope someone else pipes in here and gives you a definitive answer as I'm feeling a little wishy washy about this one.

Is this eagle in your collection?

There are only a few dealers that I would trust to purchase one of these eagle from, because as I understand it now, the fakes of these SS sleeve eagle have gotten very convincing for those of us who may not exactly what to look for.

I have heard, but not read anywhere, that there should be three or maybe four distinct types of bullion on these birds too. The two in my collection only have three different types of bullion that I can see. And that's all I can count on the one you posted as well.

      Cheers.

The construction does look correct but the beak and the leg/feet/wreath area say "No" to me,but these are not my strongest area (if I have one at all) Wait for the REAL experts.

        Cheers,Ian.

          Hi Francesco,
I'm no expert but...(how many times do we hear that!)
I tried to collect as many photo examples of authentic bullion eagles a while back, and I have just trawled through them all. I nearly purchased one of these a few years back, and really tried to do the research. It turned out to be a fake, luckily I hadn't paid...
IMO I don't like this one. Here's a pic of a known fake, it seems to match this one. Sorry I can't remember who owns the good top example!
          best regards

I'm sure it's a repro. Has that synthetic look to it. Looks almost
just like the one on Militaria-net's website, out of the U.K.
Even leans to the left a little.

                  Thusly,
