Interesting theory however in the subject photo the TK is directly applied to the shirt
as opposed to a band, also the 'W' appears to be absent from beneath the skull.

That's an interesting thread about the Wehrwolf insignia. A little overwhelming the amount of crossover of insignia and organizations. Looks like the same pic posted in that linked thread:

When the Wehrwolf was absorbed in the SA/SS in 1933, in some regions they had a lot of members and they were able to found own SA Stürme. They wore such Wehrwolf patches on sleeve in memory of their Wehrwolf background.
