    SS "Italian" camo parka

    Hello,

Not sure if this is in the right place or not... but I believe these count as a piece of SS uniform. I would like to get some opinions on this parka if possible. The only thing that I know about it so far, are that the buttons have been replaced at some point to make them all 'match' up. Other than that, not a lot else.

    Many thanks

It is ww2 Italian camo, ss parka. After the germans occupied Italy in 1943 they took advantage of that camo as there was a shortage of german camo.ss troops in particular (leibstandarte, hitler jugend) wore it.

Standard field greyish pebbled uniform buttons will do fine. In your example try to find used examples. Nice jacket. Good luck

              Regards

It is ok, the buttons on this one aren't Czech, just ordinary normal buttons. The parka used by the czech army post war also have an ink stamp - this one doesn't

Nice, as usual, someone has"libertated" the original drawstring for the hood, sadly, they are missing 99% of the time.

Perhaps you can find a size stamp on the inside some where.

                        Regards

I am not sure that they normally had a size stamp inside? Not unless the czech army added them to the ones they used, which this one doesn't have.

Does anyone know if the Germans stamped these with sizes? Thanks

they were size stamped 1-2-3 (small-medium-large).

                            Hope this helps,

                            kind regards,

Thank you! Right, I didn't know that! I have been told that it is a "large size" so most likely a '3' then.

                              Cheers,

                              Pat
