This is a good one. Made in 1944.
I have not heard of any Norwegian SS soldiers that fight in France.

      Hi,

i think that Just was saying that some french collectors had concern about this badge (maybe on a french messageboard).

Norwegian SS may have fought in France in 1944 :

      - some units from the SS-Ausbildungslager made some "search & destroy" actions in the Vosges (around the camp) against french resistance (summer 1944).
Those units were taken from the training sections. Norwegians may have been amongst them.

      - two Kampfgruppen from the SS-Ausbildungslager Sennheim fighted in November 1944 near Montreux. The "SS-Kampfgruppe Schleuter" and the "SS-Kampfgruppe Ehlert" heavily fighted and lost many men.
It is not confirmed if Norwegians were amongst them, but danish, german, french, dutch and flemish SS were parts of them.

      See You

Interesting did not know that is the book written in English and is there documentation that confirms that these two SS groups composed of foreigners participated?

              Hi,

the book is only available in French.

Many SS foreign volunteers testimonies on the summer and winter operations are included.
              P423>P432

The SS-Ausbildungslager was "rebuilt" near Ulm under the name "Nordalb" in November/December 1944.

Jean-Michel Liandier was a correspondent of "Der Freiwillige", and had access to dozen of testimonies and hundred of documents.

After talking to our expert Mr. Brenden, one Norwegian SS soldier was killed in France. He was attached to the "6. SS-Geb. Div. Nord".
Could it be his badge that is found ???
Have you any idea where it was found ?

                  Regards

Hello and thanks for the answers ! This badge is the mine and I found it in the Southern France this summer. It was found in an ancient german camp of POW.
