There are three very identical Alte Kampfer chevrons on Weitze's website, all are the rarer ex police/army variant. At first glance they look old and original, but the tresse looks different from the usual checkboard weave pattern and the spacing created by the black thread is different than that of the most common form of chevron. I know there are enough original OF chevrons out there with tresse that differs from this standard pattern, so they might be ok on that point, but then there is the material used for the stars: it is not standard bullion, but a bullion made up of twisted thin silver threads...is this ok? Seeing as all have the same backing material, they are obviously all from the same maker, so that's weird as well, considering the type of insignia. Maybe 70's fake? Any input would be appreciated, as they are reasonably priced.

another one...
Just found an identical one on this website:
http://www.victorymilitaria.com/inve...&productId=648
Just noticed that the cloth is weird as well, not wool, but what appears to be a cotton of some sort. The black stripes also appear more sewn onto the tresse, rather then into it, as with most originals. Four identical chevrons, with lots of issues as far as I can tell, but any definitive expertise would still be greatly appreciated...
