    Hi fellows,

please help me with this SS collar patch. Is it a real one?

    Thanks in advance.

Rank patches are notoriously difficult to tell if real or fake due to the components and simple construction,is the patch backing material moleskin (velveteen in the US)?

From the pictures above I see no red flags as such ,although the piping is sloppily attached and it looks as if it has been re attached in places, but then again it could be a real blank rank patch that has had pips and piping added later

      cheers,
      Gary

I agree 100 percent with Gary...these patches can be difficult to detect due to the simple construction..and how hard is it to find original pips to put on a piece...but I do like the piece posted, it has a nice backing, looks worn and has a good look overall.

the shown buckram is used on original tabs as Gary already said. So I have no doubts about the tab by self, but nobody knows about the piping is it applied later on or not.
