Star of David insignia help?

Hi guys, I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, when I have done a search other Star of David items have been posted here.
This insignia was found with some genuine SS insignia, I have no idea of what it is, it looks handmade and certainly has age to it.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

This is the Cuff rank braid off a British Reserve Royal Naval Offciers uniform....
certianly could be WW 2 vintage, but NOT GERMAN.
