So this cap should be discussed.

The eagle was dicsussed today. Look below:

The Skull is a poor fake i think. Maybe this skull was added later.

Now the cap. I'm not an expert. I hope i took the right Pictures for giving an opinion.

The Marking of the cap is on the inline on the side. I never saw that before.

This cap comes from Austria - not America. After the war it was different in Austria than in the USA. The Waffen SS was even judged as a crime Organisation. My Grandfather a veteran from the Wiking Division was hiding the stuff he brought back from war for 40 years in a small place under the Roof (a Visor cap skull and a few Pictures and a belt).

So i think the Veteran who brought back this cap removed the good skull after war to hide the cap beeing judged as an SS Cap. The Fake skull was added later. Maybe from the collector who got this cap.

also for me the cap (and eagle) is good. for sure the pictures of fresh thread and regular sewing don't help

i would like so much to examine one of these.
