Looks more like a body of a parrot than an eagle.

It's trying to be an early pattern second type ... is there a card unterlagen template ? Personally I don't like it BUT these are hand-embroidered and open to personal variation.

I think it stands a chance. I can see an unterlagen peeking through in some spots and I have seen original variants similar to this example. The black highlights around the wreath could be interpreted as a red flag though, never seen that before.

I bought the eagle from a well known collector and forum member
and should be an Original one "Flemish made"

If it was Flemish made it was using a German unterlagen ...

I doubt its Flemish made, it resembles pre war German made examples.

It looks like it could be a good one. Although all the bullion eagles are getting faked better.

Do fake eagles now have an unterlagen? If so that really ups ante in the repro world and then it will make it impossible to judge an eagle with a picture. IMO the krinkled boullion in the swastika and the top feathers would be harder to fake.

Yes, the ones made to deceive can do ... sometimes UV+ but often UV- these days I'd imagine.

                        It's never that easy.
