What do you think about this eagle? I dont like the poorly formed head and also the non-twisted thread bothers me too!

Actually not in that bad of shape and a very difficult to find original. Interesting in that the tunics I have seen these used on were primarily from units that served on the Eastern front only and not in western campaigns....with the exception of the LAH which I have seen them in period pics on LAH tunics. I wonder if these were made in an Eastern KZ camp ?

They appear on some earlier tunics m36/m40 in the Agte book on Jochen Peiper. The photos appear to be early studio ones as well but who knows for certain.
