Hi,

I Need help with this SS Polizeidivision Cuff.
There are 6 strands on top an bottom - is this always a sign for the early fakes? Or do 6 strand cuffs exist?

Reproduction. Embroidery is very sloppy.

I believe this cuff title stands a very good chance of being original. I wouldn't throw it out just yet.

Because I have owned six strand police cufftitles that were original. The quaility of the lettering for one of these is also fine, IMO.

On a Das Reich or other RZM cuffs, serifs and letter shaping should not vary. On this division, prior to bevo taking it away around 1943, their embroidery was irregular, both in the wording, abbreviations, and even the use of a period after the name.

I would keep it for a bit if you own it, and do more research.

To me it's not a textbook original piece, with standard RZM machine embroidery

I gave this cuff band back to the dealer i got it from about 2 months ago. But i did more Research about the 6 strand cuff titles.


I found some interesting cuff titles to compare.

Look at the 6 strand boarder at the "Das Reich" Cuff Title. The silver boarder moves up and down. Seems like this was an error in production.

Ulric of England Shows in his book "Third Reich SS and Political Cuffbands" Volume 2 a "Reichsführung SS" Cuff title with the same error at the silver threads of the boarder.

It seems that the "SS Polizeidivision", the "Reichsführung SS" and the "Das Reich" Cuff Title had the same manufacture who was using the 6 thread Basic cuff with the error at the boarder.

Maybe anyone has a cuff title to compare too??
