    Markings on SS Stug wrapper.

    Hello Guys,

I bought this Stug wrapper some time ago and just had it checked out by another SS collector.
He says he does not like the size of the numbers combined with the Betr.Ra markings.
That the font on the numbers are too large.
I have collected Heer items for quite some time and thought I was experienced enough to buy some SS but clearly my knowlegde on this is far too limited compared to what I have bought
Can you take a look at the numbers and give me your opinion please??

    Thank you!

I am not an SS wrap expert, but maybe someone added in the Betr Ra. (I can not tell if it is even spelled correctly (Bert?) from the photo) to a stripped original wrap. I could be a good wrap, even though I know they make excellent fakes of these.
The insignia, boards especially do not seem to match the wear of the piece. So if good most likely put together. Have other comment on the base wrap and the authenticity of the eagle and tabs.

                    stug wrapper

the collar piping looks very nice! I know there was a regulation that the collar piping was supposed to be a specific diameter relative to the diameter of kragenspiegel piping. check the core thread at it ends with the UV light. Its not a perfect method, but if it glows like a firecracker on the 4th of July, watch it!

Hello Guys, and thank you for your opinion so far!
There is not one single thing that glows on this wrapper.
Trust me I have searched every inch with my blacklight.
So this is a wrapper I should not send back?
I think I did the right thing posting it here eventhough I was nervous about the answers!

Thank you again for excellent help.

PS, the cloth is more worn than it looks on the pictures and the lining is abit dirty also, not that that neceseraly means anything.

Indeed the stamp looks like Best.Ra. (usual Betr. Ra. below). Can you make a straight-on picture of the stamp? Also please post close-ups of the front lapel button holes from both sides and the burlap material inside shoulder areas.

I am skeptical about the runic tab. It is an oddball at the very least.Reminds me of a very worn Sieder repro the litzen on the rank side is also similar to those found on Sieder tabs. Di you purchase this say around 10-12 years ago?

With Richard P. We studied and talk a lot about this situation.
My point of view= betr.ra. Produced wraps in black, green german and captured wool.
On these lines fonts of numbers are different and same of certains pants without betr.ra. Stamo but with all features.
I checked 2 wrap examples and they are simply perfect... Never seen so high level of fakes in any ss tunic.
We also know for sure wraps were produced in captured wool. You will not have a reply... You must have your opinions. Mine: if price is intetesting keep it as i do.
Please give me all picture you can at lssah@teletu.it and we can comoair with mine. I waited a german wool since 2006... I examined polizei captured but no german wool it's a great present for my Xmas!

It says Best.Ra in my opinion also.
                              SOme more pictures.
