    That sounds exiting!

Who wants to join me in to Kiev Show? I would love to have pictures of seeding of fake dog tags for grave diggers...

Alas jani,,those days are over. Happening in the 1990s. The ground isn't giving up much these last 6 years or so. Most of the diggers I know haven't dug in a few years. With the economy better in Ukraine most have gotten their jobs back and no longer need to do this just to survive like in the early 1990s....

BUT the show still goes on! Held at a large convention center now you will still find some nice pieces as well as dug pieces also some soviet items, but the amount military gets smaller and smaller each year.. The majority of the show is general antiques. Still a nice show to pick up a bronze statue, painting of Lenin,a carpet, silver or Icon..

sorry Gary for bringing this back up.. .

A9, I just got back from that show and a few weeks stay in Warsaw and Kiev..Asked my wife's cousins again about the tags. A few hundred were made. For tourist diggers and for lazy diggers that followed the smart diggers. After the place was dug cleaned many lazy diggers went to the spots the diggers left for 'after pickens'. Usually just finding buttons, helmet bands, bombs the first diggers left,,and oh yeah, of course the fake SS cap eagles, dog tags, SS buckles and fantasy items like this....So you might actually find honest diggers that will swear to finding this item in Ukraine, and they did! only they are fantasy pieces that were left behind to confuse and discredit this type of digger..

I asked if they still had the molds or old pieces. All gone,, remember this was at least 10 years ago!
They said it was a crappie thing their friend made for them..They laughed a lot when I told them about this discussion, so hard in fact they bought be a few Vodkas and fatback slices..

It was a good show. There were even a few German vendors this year. Not a lot of military, mostly general antiques as I mentioned before....

A9, I'm there every summer. Show is always last weekend of Aug. As I said before,,contact me 2 weeks ahead of that and go and you can meet the guys that played around with them and they will explain more to you in detail...,G.

In my opinion, it is a fake. "Euern Einsatz" isnĀ“t the correct spelling in german.
                  Correct: "Euren Einsatz"!!!!
                  That is a fact.

                  Best regards !!!
