attaching SS Officer collar tabs?

Hi guys, question for you on how SS Officer collar tabs were attached to Allgemeine (black) SS tunics. Were these on the whole, machine sewn? if so, were they attached by sewing between the piping of the collar tab and the actual tab? I have seen the 'zig-zag' pattern of sewing on the underneath of actual tunic collars, was this the standard? or were many hand sewn?

They could be either hand sewn or machine stitched. It depends on the factory or tailor involved. The finest quality ones were done by hand.
