    Wiking cuff title

    Hi all,

Someone offered me this cuff title. The condition is not the best, ragged sides.
    Is it good one?

    Best, Rob

      Cuff Title

No. Key in Wiking cuff title in the Search function. Your cuff title doesn't have the aluminum borders for starters.

Lettering at first view looked good to me. Aluminium borders is missing - this things happen. Whats about based material and threads in wording? Any signs of chance???

Not a chance in Hell. A strange fake, but a fake.

                I am sorry

We know as a historical fact that sometime in 1942 the WSS was freed of the RZM, and could not obtain insignia from whoever or whatever.

Why is it out of the question that this cuff band, if made after 1942, with its believable lettering could not be a theater made piece, or one contracted for with a different maker in Germany?

I cannot imagine any faker turning this out. It would be damned from the beginning for the lack of wire borders.

Why call this much suspicion on your product if you are trying to make a cuff band to deceive?

It sure does not look like it was made last week. It shows either the best artifiical aging of cloth that I have ever seen on the forum, or it really is over 70 years old.

I find this one to be quite interesting....and agree with the sentiment of the post just below mine...it sure looks 70 years old...if that is artificial aging it is damned good work....the grime, the look all add up for me...its a peculiar anomoly if its a good one. I think it could be a rare variant.

I also find it interesting it does look like a period foreign or field made cuffband.

Very interesing IMHO. The embroidery looks like the RZM embroidered text. Foreign made is quite possible to me.

                        Kind regards,

It has the same jumbled band weave as the 70's fakes.

If it was mine I would keep it and wait for the photo to turn up of it in wear, as inevitably it will eventually be seen in a photo that's if the CT existed. we see a lot of CT anomalies that have been deemed fake in the past, but eventually turn out to be good

I agree about the weave....I like the stitching of the text though...
