    Real JUDE Band?

    Hey guys:

I've got a guy offering me this armband and at the moment, this is the only image I have. When I see "JUDE" on any armband, I run - assuming it is fake, as usual… BUT, this fellow said his Grandfather brought it back.

Just realized this may not be the place to post this, but figured you SS guys would know.

So, from what y'all can see, whatta ya think?

    Thanks in advance,

I have not seen everything of course, but unless this item has ironclad provenance for the past 70 years or so,,,I would not buy this as original,,,my opinion...Robert

        pic

No, that's the only photo they guy sent… I'm to see it later today along with some other stuff his Grandfather supposedly brought back. He said he may want to keep the armband, but sell the other stuff - pretty common pins and stuff.

I was assuming it is "bad", but when the kid said G'daddy brought it back, I thought I should check into it!

Certainly has a change as these did exist. Your example actually matches well with the basic characteristics of originals. That said, the devil is in the detail, especially with these, and there is no way possible to authenticate this without much better pictures; even then it's no easy task.

              Thanks

Thanks for the input everyone. I just looked at it and I passed. It seemed to have un-natural wear and the dark spot in the upper right looks to have been some sticky stuff left from a price tag! I think someone stuck him with it at a show or something like that.

I don't think the young buck was telling me the truth - imagine that!

              Thanks again,

Skip, I must say it does have that artificially aged and stained look about it. Well passed over IMO
