SS M43/BeVo Trap Question

On original SS M43 caps with the BeVo Trap, is the skull hidden or partly hidden by the flap of the cap, like the national cockade on Herr caps? I've never seen an original SS M43, and wasn't sure if original BeVo Traps were sewn high enough on the peak for the entire skull to show, or if the skulls were partially hidden.
