Definitely an original Eagle.

It was a very expensive eagle , my concern is if it was just a minty bird stitched on to a piece of material , is it definitely a piece of wrap , $950 was a hell of a lot , when you think Hannahs Reich has a lovely mint example for £185 but I have done the same sort of thing , Regards D

I would say that the application looks correct. The problem is that it is easy to sew an original eagle to a piece of wool with a zigzag stitch. Since it is on a black piece of wool, it would be questioned even more.

This is exactly what I was saying , a lot can be made by some unscrupulous dealers using original eagles , it can double their return , God only knows I have had my fair share of unscrupulous dealers
