Hi Pimpf, yes these parkas can be good They were made in occupied Czechoslovakia during the latter part of WW2. There is evidence that they were produced post war and the Czech Army used them. You need to see the buttons are original to the jacket. The post war made examples have Czech Army buttons, which the dodgy sellers replace with original wartime German buttons.

They are also now reproduced by GMAX.

    Hope this helps?

    Cheers, Ade.

Is there any evidence that they were used during the war?

Hi Peter, yes, there is photograhic evidence of them being worn during WW2. I don't have any pics to hand or links to show you, but they are legit.

I have also seen footage of a couple of US troops wearing this type of jacket as well probably from German captured stock, the US soldiers pictured were in bastonge, the footage is visible in the colour documentary D-day to Berlin,

Mike Beaver's Book Camoflage Uniforms of the SS has a good wartime photo of them being worn.

              Cheers

Thanks all! I was allways a bit suspicous, because of the rather low prices of these anoraks.

I will search for Beaver's book
