Originals have crimped in prongs, not soldered on prongs. Unfortunately, I am using a computer with a small screen so cannot see them well enough.

Nothing in my books that look like these, the prongs in my books are not soldered in.

Thats what I thought other things which stand out to me are the makers mark on the back don't look right to me and the runes are very much like the fake ones .

$1000 is a lot of money for fakes nearly as bad as mine , I paid £400 from a so called reputable dealer , who I have now found out about getting away for years selling me fakes until I started learning
Darren-I hesitate to just come out and say that I think these are fakes, I don't like 'trashing' someone's sale but I am not comfortable with them, beyond the issue of the soldered prongs we have a lack of clarity in the details that I just don't see on the period ones.
I would like to hear some other opinions on these.

Guys,,John T. has a set on his site that look the same, I do see the pins on Johns that are a little longer than the ones on E-stand. other than that and some warn paint, there pretty close. Maybe some better closeup pics would help some,,I too dont want to trash anyones sale JMO

I have come across these fakes in Greece ( My homeland ) they make them from turkey and send it right over to Crete and Athens , sorry but these are fakes and the books say it clearly .

Agree would pass on these, the details are lacking....and way over priced even if they were original.

                  Hi Greg,
I just looked at the ones John is selling (sold) and they are nothing alike when it comes to the pins, his are crimped, not soldered, just as they ought to be, the ones on the estand are also nowhere near as crisp and detailed as Johns are.
Like I said, I hate to throw stones at someone elses stuff but....
                  Best regards,
                  Eric

                    Eric, Guys:

I'm sorry I'm getting to this posting so late! I just noticed it last night & went into my photo files in the computer & pulled-up the "Plates" being discussed & found that they are infact, "crimped" on their backs & not 'soldered' as I think I typed in the description.

I also referred to "Collectors Militaria" & found the "Plates" in his 'Archives' & they are the same with the construction & view on the front. I've added a couple of more photos here now to show you the 'prongs' on the backs of my "Plates" - They "are" crimped & not 'soldered'. The area where the pin exits the base isn't 'cleaned-off' (removing the excess metal), as much as what shows on other "Plates" you see.

The maker logo is also fine. "JFS 42" - "JFS 43" are set where they should be & match against those shown on the above mentioned website. I didn't grab any photos of Bill's site because it's not right to 'snatch without permission' & I'm responding to this thread 'Fast' being that I only noticed it last night while looking around on here.

No one 'notified' me let me know that an item of mine was in question. If they had of I would have responded promptly & offered more photos at the time.

If, after you investigate the 'new' info & still feel that the "Plates" I have are not convincing, then PM me & put the 'reasons/findings' in here as well & I'll cancel the sale of the "Plates" & that will close this matter without any bad feelings.

                    Ron.
