Collar Tab ?

This is not my field at all, I am into steel helmets.
A neighbour has given me this, I think it is a collar tab, he said his brother had given it to him, his brother had been on duty at the Nuremburg hangings and had taken it from a uniform. I can't prove where it has came from so has to stand on it's own merit.
Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Certainly not SS I'm afraid. Dimensions-wise it could be a sleeve raute (diamond) ?

It's a Political Leader 'Staff Leader' badge worn on the left sleeve.
