Sorry, but IMO a fantasy item. It's construction is the same as a series of fakes that I think came to light in the late 1990's if not earlier.

I agree, I would not regard this to be an original period item, I am sorry to say.

I tested it with a blacklight and it doesn't glow? What the reasoning?

Lots of Fakes don't glow.We all wish it was that simple in working out bad from good.

Im not sure why you posted it for opinions if you are convinced its real.

If you are convinced, then stick it on the Estand and see how many offers you get.

Posting a period pic might at least substantiate it actually existed

                    -It's not WWII German, because:

-There is a modern fabric currently available that will not glow under blacklight and there are ways to conceal the glow on other fabrics. There are also fakes newly made out of old fabric, these will not glow. There is also wartime fabric that glows... The "blacklight test" does not conclusively prove anything.
-The construction and materials on this armband are extremely atypical and would be very uncommon on an original piece.
-The construction and materials are typical for many recently made fantasy fakes.
-The soiling looks artificial and is typical for other fake armbands that are made this way.

                    That's the reasoning.

The Armband is a JOKE.... refusing to "take our word" for it won't change the truth.

You have a few other "questionable" things I saw in a quick check of your website...for instance: the Police Crash helmet:....is a Spanish/Italian Tanker helmet with added Polizei hat device....NEVER DONE!, the Studentbund buckle needs much better pictures...(might be ok), The Blue LW offz. collar tabs are East German...and why so much for LW chevrons?...they're worth $12.00 each!

Nobody likes bad news, but you asked.... the Mourning Armband is too ridiculous to even take seriously.... I'm surprised anyone would have fallen for it, in the first place. You claim 100% original items...but need to screen things alittle better and use the forums for assistance...

The blacklight only detects the most obvious of fakes (all synthethic).... as already stated, many fakes don't blacklight.... and some originals "will".... it's just a tool, not a definate answer....

                        Armband

If you are so sure it's a German WWII item, then perhaps you can reference an order or regulation denoting this item as SS as stated on your website.

Which begs the question ... Why DID you post it ?

If it was a clumsy advert for your site I fear your defensive attitude for something which you quite clearly know very little about will only put more people off.

As Charles says perhaps you would care to point us to the regulation ordering said item or the item itself in the RZM sales list ? An item of this vintage will obviously be in that ....
