I would'nt call them "MINT"... For me, is an item "mint" if unissued, never worn, without any mothings and traces of wear, factory new original cap of 70 years...

That, is what I'm calling "mint".

But that's not the question here, let's admire this beautifill CW "Sonder-Anfertigung" and that it serve as a reference to all members who will visit this topic.

Very nice visor. For some reason I really like the black visors over the grey.

                    Cap

Insignia are both M1/52 and nice original examples. Cap is also a nice original example, but the "aluminum" insignia seems out of place for that visor.

Agree with you Peter, but nevertheless possible.

Regulation and reality are very often different...

1 the eagle is not made of aluminum
2 this cap is from a condemned building, was never at a dealer or collector ... I bought it directly, it was as expensive as a EKII 1939! this cap is unchanged since 1939, and as belonging together
3 the cap would be found in the manufacturer's original box ... However, this was disposed of ...

finally forget your textbooks .... theme in German militaria forum "that has never existed" http://www.militaria-fundforum.de/sh...d.php?t=352655

                        regards Olaf

Could someone please be so kind and explain
-when and what material was used for the skull/eagle?!
                            - if a cap is untouched, should the insignias be from the same metal ? Did they come like a pair?

                            Cheers

See RZM price list below, but as said, that's regulation and of course not always followed...

Sorry, but an RZM controlled / manufactured cap would have been produced per the regulation. There would other examples by this maker of the same anomaly. I have not seen one to date.
