Restored Tab Good or Bad .... ?

I got this tab from another WAF member ..... I decided to restore it to bring it back to life.
Was it a good or a bad thing what I did .... ?
    Regards
    David

        Tab

Good effort on conservation of the tab. Your efforts have greatly reduced the further progress of the erosion of it.

                Thank you Gentlemen .....
I also never used any glue what so ever.
It was the varnish from the home made buckram heated by the steam iron which glued it all together.
                Regards

I think you did a great job and the tab looks much better. It should keep much longer also!
