44 SS dot pattern tunic

Just after some advice here,

this particular tunic is made of cotton, with a hbt reinforcing around the armpits and belt loops. It has a tropical eagle applied with zig zag stitching, I wanted to know if the cotton made tunic is a rarer material used for these tunics as opposed to the HBT material? I'm looking to move this on soon as I only collect more formal/dress tunics.[/IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

In my opinion this type of smooth cotton dot pattern jacket(s) is/are much more difficult to find as the HBT ones.

I like this type of jackets with the almost "yellowish inside" of the fabric. This one looks good with a minimal patina on it.

Don't know what to think about the eagle. I (in person) never have seen these with original attached tropical eagle.

Nice and good smooth cotton jacket. In my opinion a postwar applied tropical eagle.

I agree with the above. And regarding the question to material scarcity, the smooth cotton is indeed less frequently encountered as compared to hbt.

I've seen a few with a tropical eagle, however they have been on a hbt tunic..

cotton tunics are not so commin but not so rare at all.

The eagle looks more like a toned grey eagle on my monitor ? It's original anyway.

The flash is one thing . . . but I find the Klan hood display to be all the more vexing!

But back to the eagle, in my opinion it has a good chance to be period applied!
I like the way it was sewn and cut out on the edges (no material folded to the back!)
I think this was quite common period practice and I've often seen
this application/"cut out" style on original sleeve eagle tunic cutoffs..
