1942, 1943 AND 1944 SS AND POLICE CHRISTMAS BOOKS
        PUBLISHED BY THE REICHSFÜHRER-SS, SS-HAUPTAMT
IN BERLIN FOR DISTRIBUTION TO FAMILIES OF SS MEN

I wouldn't mind it if you want to move it on

          summed it up perfectly.

if you know what to look for...you can find what is called on WAF the "cultural" side inside it.

Yes, as written before, a Christmas book.
This one is missing in my collection.
            Kind regards

              Hi,

i already posted some infos on another topic if i'm right.
              1942-1943 (german)
              1943-1944 (german, dutch)
              1944-1945 (german, norvegian)
Xmas books exist in german, dutch, norvegian and it is also said in french (depending of the years, confirmed issues listed).
DNSAP (danish NSDAP ^_^) Xmas books from 30's up to the end of the war also exist, those ones are even more gorgeous and are full of SS material (war issues).

German issues may ( i'm pretty sure we spotted that in the past) exist in some variants, with different pages (like "Sieg Der Waffen") and different printings (some are N&B, other N&B + color).
I'm sorry Loïc and I didn't had the time to full review the dozen of issues we have... We will have to work that subject in the future...

Some local SS/party leaders added special inserts in some issues they offered.

Depending on the condition, you can find them from... 1 Euro up to 100 Euros.
You must be really careful, because many are "cleaned" of Hitler picture and Himmler speech in the first page. The binding is commonly damaged.

              See You

                Vince-Inserts? ...yes, indeed.

                To all:

price...seen one linger for ever at 50 bucks... but it sold eventually.seen another that is on a site for years now and wont sell due to overpricing.

I think it is obvious to the watchful collector that there is a finite market for SS "cultural" type books and magazines.

As such, if it is not super rare- a seller cant sell at an exorbitant price as only a few people even want them-as opposed to SS daggers, SS tabs, etc..

                  Hi,

i will add that a Xmas book is very good - excellent condition is really a nice pice to have, so you can pay a bit more for it.

Michael you are right, Zvab and many other websites are full of expensive originals, some of which are in average condition...

                  I like the 1944-1945 design a lot.
We will try to post some pictures in the next days...

I'm pretty sure that 1943-1944 and 1944-1945 german issues were printed to - at least - 100000 copies (to compare late war german SS-Leithefte were printed like that). We are Lucky that only a few pages are "SS related", many people kept them.

                  See You

Why were the Himmler speech and Hitler picture removed? Was this a post war occurrence?

                      Hi,

yes, i already saw this kind of post-war surgery that in other NS or SS war issues. Usually this is only one page that is missing, so you have to check carefully...

                          Hi,

in all the items i saw, the content was usually not very "graphic" (no SS / NS pictures). So i think that the guys after the war cut the Hitler/Himmler pictures to keep the books.
The Xmas books are clearly "suitable for everyone" without the NS/SS related pictures at the start.

                          See You

                            Hi Vince

I understand, the books were still fundamentally SS related without the Himmler speech and a Hitler picture no ?. I was thinking they would have destroyed them totally rather than just remove a couple of pictures

                            Cheers
