    Waffen SS waffenrock Oberscharführer

    Hi Guy's

A friend of mine is planning to buy the SS Waffenrock which is for sale on Beck's militaria site.
    Here is the link.

    I would appreciate your comments.

      Thanks for your reply.
Why should this tunic not be Original ??

I really like the gabardine wool body, but the liner has only partial size markings and is not made from what I'd expect to see. An unusual mating of materials IMO, with some fairly rough insignia application in places (tress, ect).

The incomplete (factory) size markings with strange font and name stamp look strange at best, and on the combed cotton...

Besides the two support holes, nothing in the construction looks SS.

Most of the insignia looks OK from these initial pictures, but I believe the tunic is a ground up fake.

        regards, Robert

          Tunic

The font of the size markings is odd.

I agree about stamped maker logo. Shoulderstraps are questionable to say the least. Photos of othe insignias are too small to make a judgement. I am an insignia collector and wont give comment on the jacket itself. But with a price like this you have to be REALLY careful. Actually if these are all the pics a seller provides there usually is a reason for it. Hence, not a good sign.

The jacket (in my opinion) is a complete fake - simply compare the details of the lining with any issue W-SS 2-hole tunic.

Lining, stamp (maker?), material, cut and possibly the cufftitle are all inaccurate for an issue tunic and even suspect for a tailored piece. It's post war.

                    Hi,

Beck Militaria had some terrific items in the past, but the website is flooded by ugly fakes, including a mega-fake "Charlemagne" stamp...
And now Mr. Beck passed away a few weeks ago...

Strangely someone on EBay with "beck militaria" in it is selling on EBay many fakes SS field orders, including fake "Charlemagne" stamps in them...
I have no proof but it is highly suspect.

                    See You

I find it particularly amusing that you can clearly see where the cufftitle has been folded in 3 for a very long time.

I wondered why I had not bookmarked that site before, and then I saw the asking prices and I remembered...

Beck has interesting stuff and Original too but unfortunately also a lot of fakes.

Thanks Guy's for all your replies.
