I posted a previous thread seeking opinions as to whether the band material "had a chance." The replies were affirmative. Rather than add pictures to the older thread I have posted a new thread.
The cuff band has 6 string edging. It is in tubular wire which references have called "course" wire.
Weitze had a very similar one that was cut snd shortened for sale. He placed the manufacture of the tubular wire band as circa 1934. This would be pre-RZM. All of the references, Ulric and Williamson tell us that the tubular wire is rare, as opposed to the finer grade of wire that the vast majority of hand embroidered RZM cuff bands are made from.
If Weitze is correct, the pre-RZM Sutterlin bands were initally made in the course tubular wire. After 1935 when RZM rules went into effect, the use of the finer bullion wire was used. Thus there could have been only a window of one year for these to be produced.
These are just my theories.
